After the Last Desire
PoetryBy Sheikh RahilJuly 3, 2026
Gone far beyond Love's labyrinthine snare,
I trod through realms where fear itself found none
Where shattered longings bled into the air
And wounded passions faded with the sun.
There, aspirations lay in silent graves
While restless sentiments took wing and fled
I sailed unmoored upon oblivion's waves
With neither hope to crown nor grief to dread.
Amid the hush of fate's unyielding keep
I found a peace no mortal tongue could frame
Where death stood not as terror, dark and deep
But as a lantern bearing Heaven's flame
Thus, freed from longing's venerable chain
I walked the void and found myself again
