A Soul Beyond soul
PoetryBy Sheikh RahilSeptember 6, 2026
I found myself astray without you,
You don’t seem to evolve in me,
Me, a whirling soul but confined to you.
You take for granted my unflinching love
Yet still I wander where your shadows grew
Seeking the self I lost in loving thee.
My heart keeps knocking, though the door is blue
And silence answers where your voice should be.
Perhaps I loved a dream I called your name
A fragile star that flickered in my sky
You stayed unchanged, while I became the same
A soul that learned to stay, but not to fly.
So if you leave, let not my love be blamed
Some hearts grow free only after they’re maimed.
