A cup of tea

A cup of tea

PoetryBy Sheikh RahilJune 28, 2026

A cup of tea with a pet peer group,

My heart enthralled with the bounties of love.

Shall anyone have this immortal bough,

Whose leaves are woven by Heaven above?

The twilight lingers on the silver air,

While mirth and memory dance in gentle streams;

Each smile a blossom, delicate and rare,

Each word a lantern kindling golden dreams.

No monarch's throne could rival such delight,

Nor gems outshine affection's sacred gleam;

For fellowship transforms the humblest night

Into a realm more splendid than a dream.

Thus let this fleeting hour forever stay,

A deathless spring concealed within the day.
